Each portrait is captioned with name, age, place of birth, date of arrest, and length of prison sentence. Additional information about each pickpocket regarding his or her profession, height, eye color, and type of theft is penned on the versos of the portraits. The album includes an index giving a breakdown of the pickpockets by nationality. Twenty-two mounts lack their corresponding portraits. Photographer unknown.
